This article will help you to use the timeframe selection module on your REPORT dashboard
Select a predefined timeframe
3 timeframes have been predefined by Adomik so you can quickly run a report on:
- the Last 7 days
- Month To Date
- the Last Month
The last 7 days period is selected by default: these are the dates you see highlighted in blue in the above screenshot.
To switch to another predefined timeframe, simply click on the time period you are interested in (in the screenshot below, we have clicked on "Month To Date")
Note: you will see that when you modify the timeframe for reporting (dates in blue), this also modifies the timeframe for comparison (dates in orange). By default, the timeframe for comparison length equals the timeframe for reporting length. But we can also customize this. See later in this article.
Select a custom timeframe
To select a custom timeframe, follow these 2 easy steps
Step 1: Click on the first date of your reporting period
Step 2: Then, click on the last date of your reporting period
=> Step 1
=> Step 2
Select your comparison period
As mentioned earlier, the comparison period is displayed in an orange color in the timeframe selection module. The comparison period is a nice tool that allows you to compare the performance of your stack (revenue, cpm and volume) through a desired timeframe.
By default, the comparison period is set as an equal number of consecutive days right before the reporting period. This setting is named "Previous Days" in the module. i.e. I am reporting on the last 10 days, my performance will be compared versus the 10 previous days.
We can also modify this by:
- Switching from Previous Days to Previous Month: by clicking on the Previous Month button, your comparison period will move to the same calendar dates on the month before
- Customizing the comparison timeframe: you can also customize the comparison period to any period and length of time you wish. To do so, you will need to click on "Comparison Period" (circled in green in the screenshot below), then click on the first date and last date you wish to compare your report with.
Note: when you customize the timeframe for comparison and select a number of days that is bigger or smaller than the timeframe for reporting, you will see an alert telling you that the time and comparison periods are not the same duration. This won't prevent you from running the report and getting your comparison percentages.
Note: when you report on a long timeframe (>31 days), you will receive an alert telling you that the comparison period includes days without data. This is normal since the REPORT dashboard only provides daily data for the last 60 days rolling. When this happens, the comparison data will be masked, meaning you won't get any comparison percentages in your report.
Switch from a daily view to a monthly view
REPORT works on 2 different granularity levels, depending on the depth and length of reporting you wish to have
- Daily: REPORT allows you to analyze your stack data over the last 60 days, following a daily granularity. All your buyer, brand, deal ... data is available for 60 days rolling with a daily split.
- Monthly: if you are interested in a longer window for reporting, a monthly view is also available. It allows you to report on your monetization partner data for up to 24 months. The granularity is by month
By default, the timeframe selection module is set on a daily granularity and allows you to report on the last 60 days of data. If you wish to switch to a monthly granularity and report on a wider time period, activate the Switch to months button (circled in green in the screenshot below)
You will see that the granularity has moved to monthly.
The monthly view still offers you the same flexibility in terms of timeframe for reporting and for comparison.
To get back to a daily granularity, you will just need to re-activate the Switch to days button.
